Horseback Riding Lessons
Little Harbour Stables offers horseback riding lessons to anyone 7 years old and up (some exceptions), from beginner to advanced. We offer both private and group horseback riding lessons (group horseback riding lessons never consist of more than three students per lesson). Lessons run from Tuesday to Sunday (closed Mondays) and are by appointment only.
Horseback riding lessons will differ depending on individual student's skill level, interests and prior knowledge. Beginner riders will be taught all the basics including brushing, hoof picking, tacking up, safe horse handling techniques, etc. All riders will learn to walk, trot, canter, how to property use weight, leg and rein cues and will do bareback riding. Riders will also have chances to hit the trails, allowing them to further hone their skills, as well as explore exciting local trails. Our horseback riding lessons focus primarily on English riding (flat work and jumping) with some basic Western riding lessons also available.
It is advised that anyone interested in attending horseback riding lessons at Little Harbour Stables read the "FAQ" (Frequently Asked Questions) section of this web site.
Season
Our lesson season typically runs from April until the end of November as all riding takes place outdoors. For that reason our season varies in length and may continue into December if the weather allows.
